Awaken A Cappella, a highly successful co-ed collegiate group hailing from UCLA, has produced a single with A Cappella Records – Cee Lo Green’s Grammy-nominated smash hit, “F**k You“.

One of the first a cappella groups in the Southern California region, Awaken A Cappella has been performing (and competing in the International Championship of Collegiate A cappella) since 1992.

The group is something of a star factory, with names such as Sara Bareilles (whose single, “Gravity,” can now be downloaded in its original a cappella form), Michael Garner, Matt Frankel, and Dan Chang from Danville – known now as Lady Danville – and half the membership of Sonos in their alumni list.

Another member, Joanna Jones, was featured on Season 2 of The Sing-Off as a member of The Backbeats, along with four other ACR clients (On the Rocks, The Whiffenpoofs, Jerry Lawson & Talk of The Town, and Pitch Slapped).

Awaken’s rich and impressive history also involves studio success, with a number of their tracks selected in the past for inclusion on several Best of Collegiate A cappella (BOCA) compilations. They have also received critical acclaim from the Recorded A cappella Review Board (RARB).

Their three most recent albums, ”Awakenbake” (2010), ”Life’s a Beach,” (2007) and  ”Dysfunktional Family Album,” (2003) are now available through A Cappella Records, in addition to the explicit and clean versions of their single (“F**k You”).(via the A Cappella Records blog)
