Did you sing a cappella in a college group and think longingly about what a cappella music could be? Are you interested in exploring the horizon of possibilities of what voices in harmony can do to express meaning and emotion? Do you maybe write original music -- intense and personal music that goes beyond established musical conventions in order to find its own fitting musical form? Do you maybe crave original ways to interpret the songs that have meant the most to your life? Are you curious, desiring to grow, and willing to invest your energy into pursuing experimental, emotional a cappella?

My name is Joia – a veteran of the college a cappella scene and most recently a member of a semi-pro group here in NYC. I'm looking for individuals to be part of a truly new a cappella project – a small, co-ed group that will seek to explore the possibilities of a cappella music, striving to produce a cappella that is creative, original, and personally meaningful. The goal is for each member to grow individually as a singer/musician/artist while we all also grow together as a group. It's all about personal creative development, musical training, building up a dynamic group and an active performance schedule – and having fun doing it! :-)

Auditions will be held the last week of May/first week of June. If you're interested, please send an email to daffodilsdancing@yahoo.com that includes:

--Your name
--Your vocal part
--Your availability
--Your relevant background experience
--Why you think you might be interested in being part of this project
--Anything else you want to include – especially any recordings/videos/links, etc.

Looking forward to meeting you soon.

Cheers! --Joia
